Working with a Digital Camera

Unit 3: Activity 2

This post will be about the different modes found on a digital camera. Each mode has a different way of capturing an image or scene. The modes are as follows: Movie/Video, Macro/Close-Up, Party/Night, Portrait, Landscape, Sports, and Manual.

Movie/Video:  Allows digital cameras can capture live streaming videos.

Macro/Close-Up:  Allows cameras to take close-up pictures.

Party/Night:
Allows longer exposures to capture dark scenes, usually with flash.
Landscape:  Allows camera to attempt to capture detail in foreground and background by using aperture settings.

Portrait:  Allows camera to potentially blur out the background.

Sports: Allows camera to freeze motion by using the highest shutter speed possible.

Manual:  This mode needs the photographer to set both the shutter and aperture mode.

My Reflection:

I think it is quite useful for a camera to have multiple modes that it can be set in. I think it allows the photographer to use the effect they need when they need it with ease.
